Line Drive presents Cods Capers 2024

Hello and welcome to a special edition of Cods Masters baseball from the sunny city of Ballarat.
After a subdued Thursday night, 10.5 Cods players took to the field in lovely conditions.
In game, one Brendon French got the job done on the hill against Titans, while in game 2, it was Damon Barkers turn to get the win against our great friends Tassie. Saturday’s team manager Kelsey “Dropsey” Burder will have some difficult decisions to make in the line-up for the midday matinee game. One thing for sure is that Dropsey will not concern himself with minor details. Just the person for the job. Now onto some other stories.

The Moustached one been busy.
It has been a year of change at Cods Masters. After being asked to score and kindly declining, Brad “Undies” Murdoch has taken on the role of Master Of Fines. Undies took to the role like a duck to water, not missing a beat. But one must say, Dropsey Burder was the main focus for a couple of his pages of misdemeanours. A few Cods managed to escape scott free.
Lets hope this is addressed on Saturday and Sunday.

Where is Griff?
Daniel Griffin has made it to Ballarat. However, Thursday night, you would think the enigma was never there! This was noticed by most and now Griff is making up for lost time. Where were you Griff?

Gilly loves a kebab
Culinary master Kyle Gilmore has finally met his match. It was overheard that Gilly has had his best chicken kebab in many moons. Kebab ninja Rob, “Butts” Seymour had a seagull go at Gilly’s kebab. It got the seagull tick of approval. His order? Chicken, garlic sauce, jalepenos and cheese. Gilly rates it, and Line Drive rates Gilly’s food choices.

Butts forgets the Soak.
Self proclaimed number one scorer in the game, Rob Seymour made a little error in the line up today. Buttsy was moving around the Cods letting know where they are all playing. With his usual aplom, Butts went through the group letting them know where they are playing. However, when he came to tell Cam “The Soak” Scott his position, he paused. Butts had forgotten to put Soak in the line-up! A hasty changed was made. Soak to play 3rd base!

The new Pikachu

There are a couple of changes for the Cods going forward this weekend. The Soak and Steve “Fernando” Peruzzo are subbed out and two are subbed in. One is very very excited. Rookie Tom “Bobblehead” Simmons is super excited to be part of the Cod collective. Young Tom, bless his cotton socks is going to be schooled in the ways of the Cod. One thing for sure his head won’t stop wobbling.

Now onto other Cod Stuff
Griff is here
Undies will do fines remotely on Saturday
Kelsey sorting a good team out
Tetsu never gets an error
Barker gets the win
Dropsy…..enough said.

Thats it like and share.

Till next time
